Thursday evening kicked off the 5th Annual Barta Boys and Girls Club Billfish Tournament. The evening began with the members from the Boys & Girls Club enjoying an afternoon of fishing on the Mystery Tour followed by the Captains Party sponsored by Viking Yachts and Bluewater Yacht Sales. During the opening ceremonies Thomas Built Buses representative Ken Dobson presented Leisa Smith, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Coastal Carolina with the keys to a brand new 20 passenger bus for the Boys & Girls Club. This is the 2nd bus that has been donated to the club since the beginning of the Barta Boys & Girls Club.

As of 8am Friday Morning 108 boats have entered the tournament which is slightly down from the 125 during the 2007 tournament but is above the 100 boats that the tournament was hoping for due to the high fuel prices. Fishing will go on until 2pm today with the Coble Trench Weigh In Station opening at 3pm.

Tonight is the Charity Auction with100% of the proceeds going to the Boys & Girls Club of Coastal Carolina. Please see the Auction Tab on the website to view some of the items that will be available.
